I was recently given this small handy book by a friend that did not require sit down time to read. I read it when I walked across my study table. Each page costs sixty seconds of reading and reflection exactly like the author, John Edmund Haggai of 365 Things Every Successful Leader Should Know says. I am picking my top 10 points from it.
- Leadership is the discipline of deliberately exerting special influence within a group to move it towards goals of beneficial permanence that fulfilled the group’s real needs.
- The effective speaker has something worthy to say and says it worthily.
- Shape the way you think by what you do.
- The successful investor focuses his attention on the possible return, not on what other investors are doing.
- It takes courage to develop your abilities – it’s easier to bask in the warm atmosphere of the comfort zone and risk nothing.
- Develop the habit of appreciating people.
- The man who knows everything learns nothing.
- Self-control comes down to successful leadership of your own character.
- Without a preset time limit, what could be done in ninety minutes may take six hours.
- Leaders need to handle ambiguity, anticipate it and ride it to provide leadership.
